Used Allegro Bay

Ran into a guy at Shreveport last winter that was on his second trip back to Red Bay with his new Tiffin something. Had been trying to get it back to CA for 2 months. Sure looked nice though.

Newmar-Tiffin-winnebego-Entegra-Thor they all turn out defective units off and on. I personally don't see one being better than the other
each one has their pros and cons
Tiffin has the best factory support bar none IMHO

I believe you are correct. Like I said, lots of people.like their Tiffins, I'm just not one of them - for a reason. They sure make a good looking coach.

Not to get too far off topic but ours on the WH chassis does just fine. I think the key word here is "satisfied." It's a 36ft MH towing a 3500lbs toad, and the powertrain has to deal with close to 26k GCWR. My F250 diesel "only" had to deal with about 20k combined, and while I do miss some of the grunt of my diesel I don't miss the racket going down the road.

I can see why people would like a diesel pusher someday, as the words "performance" and "climbing hills" don't go together describing my gas coach. But, we were able to afford it this way.

We had a 2005 Tiffin Allegro Bay which we enjoyed for over nine years. It was a 37 foot unit with two slides. The engine was a Vortec on a Workhorse Chassis. The unit had adequate power and we even took it out west and crossed the Rockies several times. It had decent power getting over the mountains. The diesel motor homes have a lot more power and are typically a lot plusher but do cost much more. If you decide to buy it make sure that the dealer has completed all of the recall notices on the refrig. It is easy for them to do and it needs to be done. Also make sure that the tires are not too old as they should be replaced every eight or so years. Also make sure that the Workhorse brake recall was completed on the coach. In the nine years that we owned it we had very few issues and all were minor. We enjoyed the Tiffin so much that we traded it in 2014 for the Tiffin in our signature. If we purchase another it will more then likely be a Tiffin. Good luck with your search.

We have a 2004 Allegro Bay 34XB. We bought it new and now have 70,000 miles on it. It is on the Workhorse Chassis. We have had repairs that seem to be just in the normal use of a RV. We like the floor plan with the two sinks in back. The length just gives you more camping options vs the longer coaches. We tow a Saturn Vue with ease. We try to be very careful in maintaining it.

A few weeks back I passed an Allegro Bus on the interstate, it too had the big crack at the bedroom slide opening like our friends Bus had. After the failure of the last factory attempt to fix thiers they finally gave up and traded it.

The '04 in question probably has the wet bay issue - like one of the many issues my parents had. The factory fix didn't work on that either. When they sold it you had to close two of the basement doors together, as unless you lined them up and closed them at the same time the sagging overlap wouldn't let them close.

As I've said time and again, many people like their Tiffins - I am not one of them.

I'll also say Tiffin does a great job of glossing over the issues with their customer service. To this day Mom would tell you what a great MH thiers was - she was never the one working on it. :W

Lots of opinions here so I'll throw another one in. I haven't owned one but I have known many and currently have friends that are Tiffin owners. All feedback I have heard is excellent.
