using Walmart over night.

Once or twice each long trip we do a Walmart and or other commercial store like Cabala's or the like.

I use RV parky...and trust that when I see the "zzz" icon that I'm good to go. Never had a problem.

We do always put our jacks down otherwise I'd overload the TV with tongue weight.

Not that I don't agree - or that I do Agree - I do as they ask - they have no rules, other than to call and ask permission, so I don't pretend to be a rule maker.

If you ever camped next to or near me I would think you would not have a problem - we help people out, we leave places cleaner than we found them, we try to treat people and places as we would like to be treated - but I take care of how I act - not everyone else.

If Wal*Mart wanted all those rules they would post them.

They don't so I guess they really just want you to call before you park, which I do.

So if needed I'll put my jacks down - I can't sleep in my Coach without deploying a slide or two. I shop in Wal*Mart year round, along with Sam's Club so you might say I'm a loyal customer. (25 years+)

So I guess I just don't get it - Wal*Mart makes the policy I follow the policy, I'm Happy they're Happy - End Of Story.

Ultimately it's common sense if putting your jacks down leaves no trace behind jacks down are fine. If jacks down leaves a divot or indention in the asphalt than some means should be taken protect the parking lot from damage.
Walmart does not need a long list of rules,they will never be able to regulate every scenario.
On the other hand just because there are no posted rules does not mean it is OK for RV'ers to do whatever they want!:S

Park, slide out, stabilizers down, buy stuff, drive past GM and CW and move on. :)

Yep it's just the way it works. Put your jacks down, slides out, grill going and drive off in the toad for some sight seeing. And when Walmart corporate says "that's it no more overnights"! You will be the first ones to cry about why they'd do such a thing!

It's because some of us have to do what's best for us. And forget what's right because right doesn't fit what I want to do!!! That list of standards is as reasonable as can be but oops sorry, standards don't apply to me!

Pretty darn pitiful if you ask me.

We use the app "RV parky". Shows the Walmarts and RV parks in the area and if Walmarts allows overnighters.

After hearing shots fired and finding the spent shells right at the back corner of my rig, using it as a shield to shoot from, that was the last time we will stay at a Walmart!!

It makes me chuckle when I hear people say they would NEVER stay in a rest area because it's waaaay too dangerous.

I don't think you'd find too many 2 bit crooks with the time, vehicle and gas money to drive up & down the Interstate just so they can stop at rest areas to see who they can rob.

Wally Worlds on the other hand, seem to be way too handy to the less desirable members of our society, and places they seem to frequent to boot.
