Can anyone tell me for sure year Ford came with the higher horsepower engine. I think 07 or 08.

It still could be built on the 2004 chassis with the 310 hp., 2 valve per cylinder V10. The easiest way to tell as previously mentioned is look at the end of the shift lever. If it says TOW/HAUL it's a 2006 model with the 5 speed transmission. If it says OD ON/OFF it's a 2004 with the 4R100 4 speed transmission.
Many manufacturers buy chassis in lots and build bodies as ordered. It's not uncommon to see a 2006 (or any year for that matter) built on an earlier model year chassis.
