IMO it's a moot point. Because if you are a practical person, and you want to buy a motorhome, the manufacturer is the one who makes the decision on which engine to use in THEIR product. Therefore, the customer ends up selecting from what's available, and within THEIR budget.
For example, when I finally saved enough money to order what I wanted, AFTER having owned 5 motorhomes, the choice of gasoline or diesel engine was NOT offered. The engine selection was between a Caterpillar or Cummins diesel engines. Naturally, I chose the one with the higher torque specification. I knew it would give me the performance I desired.
