Joe, not uncommon, you have 40+ feet of uninsulated hose running from the heat source to the heater core. Plus diesels tend to run a bit cooler than gassers in the first place. In fact it's probably closer to 50' once you count in all the bends.

I was monitoring the engine temp and it was running right at 190° and the trans just under 130°...so I think there is sufficient engine heating...but I agree that running all that hose/etc from the rear up to the front has to be a HUGE LOSS of heat...the alternative is to run the genny and fire up the heat pumps on the roof!...but when it gets that cold...the coach will be parked!
