How do you measure to get the right size? Someone told me that you couldnt use the size on the tire but had to measure the tire diagonally.

I forgot which side of my brain was operating more efficiently today. Somehow I was thinking wheel covers instead of extenders.:?:S

You should be able to go to any truck tire store.

This isn't the answer to your question, but my friend (assistant manager at a truck tire place) says that the most common reason they send a service truck out is to deal with some sort of valve stem extender or valve core problem. Much more frequently than a valve stem, tire, or wheel problem.

If someone wants a valve stem extender, or cat's eye pressure balancer, or something similar, they make the buyer sign on the purchase order that the tire service is not responsible for any problems that arise.

So you just take them off before the tire guy arrives. They would not be responsible anyway for something you put on, or want on your tire's valve stem!!!


And if I were to want valve extenders, the only one I would install are the ones sold by Alcoa Wheels


They also have extender stabilizers. But I don't know if they fit your wheel covers or not.

And you can spend the big bucks and get Dually Valves!

I like the AirMax line because they have their own support, no drilling or pop riveting the wheel liners. I replaced them after 9 years of trouble free use and keep them as spares.

They should have no trouble helping you find the right size.

I had new extenders put on in June from Phelps Tire.

I have had the stainless braided valve extenders on my rig for 10 years. Just replaced the left side rear doubles on ll 4 tires even though only to needed attention. If you live in the 11 western States buy them at Les Schwab Tire.

The best flexible extenders are these. There is a wire inside the hose that operates the inner dual schrader valve. Thus, if the hose breaks, no air is lost from the inner dual.
