Velvac Mirror Junk

Okay so my class c 2003 dutchmen has the black velvac mirrors with the lights heated and motorized way me. A few years ago I had to fight the bumper to bumper warranty to cover the replacement of my passenger mirror. The mirror fell apart at the spring because these mirrors are junk made out of cheap pop metal, even though they charge you an arm and a leg and the spring that holds the mirror up and helps it turn is held by plastic. I would love to meet the engineers on these things. From what I understand I have to now by a complete new thing I can not buy just the arm? Now, my driver side mirror did the same thing and broke at the plastic that holds the spring to the mirror. If I am going to constantly replace these every 3 to five years forget that!! I am coming to this forum looking or an alternative solution to these mirrors!!

The mirrors are set up for 102 width and the part numbers for me are driver: 715441 passenger: 715442.

Any alternative to these mirrors will be very helpful, thanks all!!

  • Hard to change over to different mirrors because of mountings.
  • Yeah it must just be my luck!! I was wondering though for ford has towing mirrors that I can use instead of the velvac. Also, that is really nice they replaced the white mirrors of yours. For me they would not allow the warranty to cover it and now they go okay here is the part number and the price pay here!!

Does anyone else have this problem with the mirrors?

Lastly, does anybody know if they can just sell me the bracket without the mirror head?
  • Maybe he should replace both his black mirrors with white? Or, even better, try a new technician.
  • My experience with Velvac was quite different. My white mirrors on my 2005 GreyHawk were discolored and when presented to Velvac they replaced both without charge. The Tech Service people were very accommodating.

    Good luck.
