VIAIR air compressors?

Has anyone had experience with the VIAIR brand of compressors? One model rated for 35" tires says:
~~~~~~~
400P is a larger portable compressor kit that can inflate up to a
35-inch tire from 0 to 30 PSI in less than 5 minutes.
0 to 30 PSI in less than 5 minutes? But how about to full air pressure like 80 to 90 pounds for my 19.5" tires? I'd appreciate hearing any comments on this particular brand of air compressor and how they perform, especially considering they're a bit pricey.
Thanks, Ken
  • Great tool, do not cheat yourself to a cheaper brand as they just do not hold up.
    Pogoil.
  • Timely post. Thank you. It never occured to me that my aged Walmart compressor that I've been using on 5ers and TTs would probably fall over and die with the new coach.
    Something else to add to the shopping list!
  • About the best both in ability and quality of build. Naturally the price reflects that also.
  • I have owned a 400P for several years. We used to camp on the beach and air down the truck and trailer tires to 15 PSI. This little guy really gets the job done! What's nice is not just the max PSI, but the high CFM rating, which is what you need to fill a tire fast. My truck tires are pretty big, 265/75-16E that need to go to 80 psi.
    Downside is that it draws just under 30 amps, and it comes with battery clamps on its power lead. I wired in a trolling motor plug on the bumper of the truck that I can just plug it into.
