X2 on Travelers World. It is a Passport USA park. Can stay one night at PA rate. Very close to Riverwalk, etc. and a nice RV park. I have and will continue to stay there.

The Menger is next door to the Alamo to the right. A lot of history there.

If you time it right you can park on E. Commerce St close to the River Center for free. The parking meters are free from I believe 10pm Saturday to midnight Sunday. Pull in late Saturday and spend all Sunday there. The bridge is mostly level so park on the Commerce St bridge if you can. That puts you right across the street from Fogo De Chao and the Marriott.
It's a short walk through the River Center Mall to the Alamo and many other things SA has to offer.

I see C's and A's there quite often.

There is a park off of Austin Hwy and Corrine St. Circle B Rv Park. It is a mostly full time park of workers. Not luxurious, but well-paved streets and conveniently located off of I-35 and Loop 410. Very reasonable and if you are staying for a week, they will negociate the price. Their electric is 100%. They also use 150 solar panels to run their park which I like apart from being grid tied.

From the park, you take Austin Hwy to Broadway and right to the front of the Alamo. You can find the park on Google Earth with the address.

I have a rental nearby and use this park when I stay. It is the only park located in the central part of San Antonio. Trust me, there is much more than the KOA. It is a safe park and we use it regularly when we visit SAT. It can't be beat. Worth checking out.

There is no place to park a motorhome near the Alamo. Although the KOA is a very nice park, the area around it is not too good. Not a good place to go out at night. I would not get on a bus in that area. We stayed there for our first trip to SA. We scoped out some other parks while we were there. The second trip, we stayed at the Blazing Star on the other side of SA. MUCH nicer area. Closer to Sea World. This will be our park for future trips to this area.

Was there about 9 months ago. Parking was difficult for cars, no where for a C to park. Teacher's Pet has a good suggestion - use the bus, or you could rent a car for the day if you had other stops.
The River walk was nice - clean and safe (during the day at least).
Save your money at the Alamo on the guided tours, you can do it yourself (or eavesdrop).

Was there 2 yrs ago. Not a whole lot of parking and the streets are not really RV friendly. Did not see any RV.s in the area.

We were camped outside the city and drove in with the towd. River walk was being worked on but was still an nice walk and had lunch at one of the local restraurants.
