Johnson Controls makes the Everstart battery as well as Interstate batteries. Interstate has a line of good deep cycle batteries. Everstart makes a group 29DC or deep cycle. I don't have any experience with them but have a lot of experience with the Interstate deep cycles. I spoke with a recent retiree from Johnson controls at the race in Sonoma. He told me that even though batteries are made by Johnson controls the construction and lead
plates in the batteries are different based on the customers specifications. A battery purchased at a walmart for instance is a less expensive battery and a good product
however the lead plates are smaller. More expensive batteries weigh more, more lead plates. I explained my needs and he recommended 6 volt trojans . As he put it, a true
deep cycle battery.
