Warranty work- time in shop , add it to warranty peroid ?

Our new coach has been in the dealers shop for over 2 months of the 5 months we have owned it. We have only taken 2 trips with it ( 1 weekend trip and 1 4 week trip) Due to the extended time in the shop, we have missed a lot travel opportunities , it's just been sitting when we should have been using it. I think it would be reasonable for the manufacturer to extend the warranty by at least the time it's been in the shop being repaired. What do you think ? Anyone ever made this request ?

  • Read the fine print on the warranty. They may have covered their bases in the wording. On the other hand, you did buy a product that you assumed was in good working order, you planned trips, lost time and money-you should ask, demand, some kind of compensation! Ask them to tack on the lost time to the warranty period. The worst they can say is 'no'!
