water from bathroom tap smells??

hi ...the water coming from my bathroom faucet (when on tank water) in my 31c Minnie winnie sometimes smells/tastes funny. its like there is antifreeze in the pipe? We have not had antifreeze in for over 18 months, it only does this now and again...today is fine but yesterday it wasn't...I have not added anywater to the tank since yesterday...And the water from the kitchen is allways fine?
anybody have any ideas?.....cheers
  • thanks for the advice guys, I re flushed the lines and fitted a new water pump while I had the bed in bits. we are in mexico at the moment and using tank water
so I can treat it with bleach. not to drink but just for extra precaution. we have been using the outside shower a lot so that's not to blame. It all seems good today again, strange it only happens now and again, hopefully the flush will sort it out, on the plus side my new water pump is almost silent compared
    to the old one.
  • Ditto to mpfireman. We only drink bottled water. We buy it at Walmart or a local grocery when we travel. A gallon lasts the two of us about a day or a little less. At 75-95 cents a day, that is cheap protection from bad water. We camp mostly boondocking and at times the water source is just a handpump in the campground (usually national forests).

We always flush our tanks between trips and sanitize the tanks and lines with bleach just for double safety. Everyone has their own system and, yes, ours is overkill.

Unused, non-flushed outside shower is the first thing that came to my mind too.
  • One reason that we NEVER drink any water from our fresh water tank, only our shower , and toilet use this water. We always have separate bottles of fresh water in our camper for drinking and cooking.

  • Open the low point drains and blow the system out again. Then flush with water again.

    Hope that helps.
  • Most likely there is still rv antifreeze in the bathroom line. I would disconnect the fauset under bathroom sink and force some water through that fauset and see if that helps.
