Statement from owners manual:

Turn the water heater bypass valve to the bypass position. (This valve is located near the water heater incoming lines at the rear of the water heater. The water heater is usually located in a base cabinet in the kitchen, and it may be necessary to remove an access panel to reach the bypass valve.)

On a friend's 2014 Coachmen, I found the bypass valve on the input line on the back of the water heater. I had to remove an access panel.

One would think that the owner's manual would tell you were it is. My friend didn't have an owner's manual!. He said there wasn't one in the info kit.
