What make of water heater do you have, Suburban or Atwood? If it's an atwood like mine, the cause is the thermostat. It's non adjustable and set way to hot. There is a replacement thermostat kit available with an adjustable temp setting. The P & T valve will drip and leak if the H2O temp is higher than it's temp setting. Kits are available from Amazon or any RV dealer and cost about $35.00 very easy to install. Youtube has a number of videos related to this problem. Hope this helps.
Yes that worked for me and the factory setting is way to hot especially if you have kids around.
