I ran 2 4 in ducts as you described when I first bought the MH and had the leaking exhaust gaskets replaced what I found was that the following year the exhaust manifolds were cracked between the ports(not leaking)from rain water getting in hitting the hot manifolds. My scoops were lower under the grill so be careful. Headers and other mods helped remove a lot of the heat from the dog house and added way more power.
