Water pump hiccuping
Hey all-
We have 2005 40' Diesel. Replaced the water pump myself about 3 years ago. It just now became intermittent. When I look at it I see two wire connections at the bottom of the pump. I believe the one on the right supplies the power. I turn the pump on and turn on a spigot, and nothing happens. When I push sideways on that power connection, it comes on and pumps. When I stop pushing, the pump stops. I can make the pump start and stop by pushing or not pushing sideways on that connector.
So, it would seem that I've just got a poor power connection. I can handle that. Just two questions:
1. Is there anything I can do to make that connection more solid and more reliable?
2. Would like recommendations on a new pump. We'd like to up the water flow GPM a bit, if we can, and minimize the "cycling", the pulse-pause-pulse-pause-pulse while the water is pumping. We currently have a Shur-Flo, don't know the model number. As long as the mounting points are the same, I wouldn't mind changing brands.
Thanks!
