Water Pump/Supply problem

Hello All
I have a '99 Dutch Star 38'dp and just returned from trip and filled the fresh water tank. closed the city water fill valve, turned on water pump, pump isrunning but not pumping any water.Just checking to see if someone could head me in the right direction to start checking.Thought there might be a check valve that did not operate.Maybe someone would be so kind to help me with this.
Thanks for all help

  • Thanks to all for the suggestions.Problem seems to have been the water pump.Few years ago I installed a Shurflo Smart Sensor 5.7 pump.Removed and replaced with old water pump. All seems to be working as it should. Going to check about repairing the Smart Sensor pump.May not be worth the expense.
    Thanks Again for the advice.

assuming you closed the city water valve correctly and its actually working correctly I would say its just air locked saw this in a gulfstream may have to prime the pump
  • If the pump run dry, the old valves in the pump may not seal enough to prime the pump. If you can, remove the inlet pipe and prime the pump, it may work again.

  • Also, along with what Old-biscuit says, to add to his check list, check that your inside and outside shower valves are off, not just the valves in the heads.
  • Water in fresh water tank ...check
Water panel 'FILL' valve fully closed...check (if open pump will just pump water from fresh water tank and back to fresh water tank ---Round Robin)

Turn pump on.......open faucet hotside and let water heater fill up and ALL air expel from line/faucet
    Then do cold side

May take awhile for pump to prime....so let it run with faucet open

(Also check that pump suction side doesn't have an open winterizing valve or any air leaks)

And YES there are check valves in system
One is internal in pump.....prevents backflow thru pump when using 'city water'
One is internal in city water connection .....prevents backflow out city water connection when using pump
