Water

Lots of good answers.
Some state information/welcome centers also have potable water. They are usually very helpful at these centers.

This is why we love and patronize Cabela's. Most all have RV parking, dumps and potable water. Frequently, the staff does not know where the potable water is, but I usually find it near the outside boat stuff place.

Picking a cheap FHU site for one night a week works too and DW gets to take a long hot shower.

It might be nice to hit an actual CG with full hook ups when you get low and have full waste tanks. BTW you should be very picky where you take advantage of filling up on fresh.

We drove into the dump station area and found a couple filling their fresh water tank with the hose there that you use to clean the stinky slinky.

After we caught our breath we informed them where to get "fresh water from a clean source" We showed them how to empty the fresh water tank, gave them a bottle of bleach and left. The husband was bent over in the bushes and his wife both crying and yelling at him.

Normally when its time to dump, it's time to fill the fresh water. In our part of the country, potable water is available near the dump stations.

Pilot and Flying J stations have water near their dump stations. Be sure to use the hose marked potable water and not the hose used to clean things up at the dump station.

Truck stops usually have water at the pumps. If you don't find it at the car fueling station check where the trucks fill up.
