Wax on Wax off...

They're probably referring to the Red Max Pro/Zep Process. It did a nice job on our 96 Southwind.

A friend of mine used the ZEP on his 2000 and it was amazing how it looked now after two years the thing still looks great.

I used it on my '90 Bounder and it did well for less than a year then it started peeling and loosing luster, now it absorbs stuff running down the sides from the aluminum roof. I'm finding it hard to remove. It does not handle sun well. Search for RMP or Red Max Pro , lots of comments.

I have read many stories of folks who used Floor wax.

Some were pleased as can be
Some were... NOT.. (Horror stories)

That's all I can say.. Based on the ratio I opted to stick with Apple Polish (Standard automotive wax.. The same stuff your local supermarket uses to polish applies and things).

You have already done the hard work. Now you may try washing the coach down with a fine or medium CLAY bar(available at most auto parts stores) and then putting a good coat of wax on the exterior.
Interior floor polish would probably work fine on your interior floors but it has no UV protection for your exterior surfaces.

RMP or ZEP is not a wax or polish. It is an acrylic floor finish with little or no UV protection. Did my motorhome 4 years ago. The side that doesn't get the sun while stored still looks like the day I first applied it. I had to strip and reapply the side that gets the afternoon sun this year because it was starting to peel. If you can store it where it does not get much direct sunlight, it should last a long time.

I wash it with dish detergent and use Awesome to remove the stubborn black streaks. I highly recommend it with the above exception about long exposure to direct sunlight.

We did the Zep High gloss floor finish. Based on our experience and not what we have heard, the tired exterior of our 1999 looks new. Scrubbed the entire exterior with barkeepers Friend, wash everything down with TSP and applied 5 coats of Zep. The description we get from everyone that sees it is one word. Wow. I did the coach in sections, first the front, then the rear and eventually each side. Just to take the process easy. After a few months and lots of rain and travel it still looks great. Success with RMP or Zep Wet Look is all in the preparation. A through scrubbing with your favorite cleaner and then a rub down with TSP and a green scotch bright will give lasting results. Don't just hose off the TSP. Rub it off with a clean cloth. I cheated the first time and had to strip it off and do it right the second time. Now my 95 Bounder shines.

My 89 Southwind looks like new thanks to wet look floor wax, if it peels use wax stripper and do it over. Get all the old wax off and it shouldn't peel. For rv's with no clear left and the paint won't stay polished, it's a miracle. This is what I used Dura-gloss wet look floor polish

for not painted gel coat RV's, maybe.
(I personally think there are probably some excellent marine products that would do a great job on gel coat fiberglass, and would never use floor wax on anything but, well, a floor...)

For full paint, base coat clear coat, fugetaboutit.

I just finished a 3 week cleanup. A really good scrub. 3m Perfectit rubbing compound on any scratches or really nasty areas. And wax with mothers carnauba paste wax.
