Not true. And wax makes bug removal much easier. - RodzExplorer

The Clear coat is actually the same paint as used for the base color coat. The only difference is that it does not contain any pigments, thus it is clear.
That said, the clear coat is just a susceptible to damage from the environment as any pint and should protected with a wax designed for "clear coat" finishes.
The clear coat itself, with it's lack of pigments is actually a little softer and will scratch easily so use only clear coat safe products with no abrasives, including any rags or towels with synthetic fibers that can scratch the finish.
100% cotton works the best IF you pull out any threads around the edge that may be synthetic.
Absolutely false. - hankoExplorerthe two that I found the easiest are new finish and rejex. The rejex wins. goes on easier comes off easier. I do mine once a year, pretty much takes a day and a 12 pack. One of the best things I've ever bought for my coach is a water de ionizer. You don't have to touch the coach with a towel when you done washing
- J-RoosterExplorerTwice a year my Grandson does it for me! I don't use wax! I use Aerospace #303 spray on wipe off! Aerospace #303 was invented by a Boeing Aircraft engineer and Boeing uses it to shine up there aircraft.

Got a reference for that ?
They can't put it on the internet if it isn't true, right?
I guess all the waxing of those old 1970 cars is why the clear coat is falling off :)
I want to get my coach powder coated but no one has a oven big enough. :) - 2gypsies1Explorer IIIWhen we recently sold our 10-year-old Newmar with full paint, it looked like new. We used a product called "The Solution". Just wash thoroughly then apply this liquid easily. No hard rubbing.

This is the easiest yet! I call Carlos & he and his two boys come to the rv park with their own 'good' water. They wash and hand wax with turtle wax. Takes 3 of them all day. they charge $2. per foot ( $70. )
We do this in the fall when we arrive and in the spring before we leave.
Where do you find these guys? Are they legal? Do they have relatives in Orlando because everybody wants 10+ a foot around here.
Yes, I guess they're legal. We are in their country :D - Bill_SatelliteExplorer II
