We know we want small, but how small?

My wife of 40 years and I are preparing to buy our first rv and after countless hours of talking and looking we need a little help satisfying our 2 big goals. We will be traveling with a small dog that we don't leave for long periods so our #1 goal is to be within walking distance all the time. This necessitates a B.

Naturally, the second goal contradicts the first. My wife and I have very different interests and many of our stops will involve one of us spending long periods in the rv waiting for the other. Picture a craft fair during the day for her and a casino at night for me. We have always dutifully hung in there for each other's boring activities but relish the idea of guilt free lingering knowing the other is quite comfortable back in the unit. For this reason we are drawn to the bigger sprinters and wider offerings from Leisure Travel and Pleasure Way.

Assuming the basic Roadtrek is about as good as it gets for access to parking, how much am I giving up as I move up in size? We really like the Pleasureway Plateau and feel that we wouldn't lose much there. But what about the bigger 25' sprinters and the wider B+. We don't want to be denied because of our size but she won't be happy if we could have had more room and didn't get it.

Just another guy trying to get 30 feet of motorhome in a 20 foot package.
