We don't expect to do much camping and most of our stops will be where awnings and slides are of no use. It looks like an afternoon in a Leisure Travel might be more comfortable than in a Roadtrek but that doesn't mean much if it wasn't allowed to park and the Roadtrek was.
I'm trying to find out at what size parking limitations begin to occur and what is easier to deal with, too long or too wide. If a B+ can park in 90% of the same places as a Roadtrek that's good enough for me but if it's more like 50% that's a problem.
I suspect you are overthinking the parking situation.
Casinos, flea markets, and the like, typically have large parking lots that can easily accomodate a larger rig. Worst case you might have to park a few rows further out and take up a second spot.
If you get into urban downtown areas, then you will likely have difficutly parking either.
Since the dog is a primary consideration for you, how do you propose to keep the rig cooled when sitting in a hot parking lot for even an hour or two? If you've ever gone into an RV that has been closed up on a hot day, it's like an oven. Diego is much more comfortable back at the campground hanging out in the air/con.
