  • Does the screen turn blue and then black? If so the monitor is overheating. I have three that did that. To check, remove the camera and plug it into the monitor where the cable from the camera plugs in that will eliminate the cable. Weldex monitors are noted for over heating. The longest mine have lasted is about 2 years until the last one, and I installed a small 12 volt muffin fan at the bottom back side of the monitor. The added ventilation has eliminated all problems. You can get the fans at Radio Shack or Fry's Electronics or on line. If you need parts or information, I suggest that you check RV Cams.
  • sorry I am not so clear,
the camera is one that plugs into a 110/ or 12 v system so it will run off the convertor or the 12v system,
it is losing the video feed after the motor home runs a while driving down the rod. there is a in line fuse for it and I checked that all ok, there is sound so you can hear the road noise just no video? ,
  • I too am having trouble understanding your problem.

    The monitor works, right?
The camera works until you drive for awhile, right?
The camera works if you plug it in....WHERE? And how do you plug in just the camera? That is where i am getting lost.
  • sorry, your comment's make no sense... the camera was working fine,
now will go out when the engine runs for a little while, the monitor still works, has a great view when plugged in ?? so if a bad switch wire, were??? need more help than you gave
  • Wire to the wrong side of switch.

On your first post you stated that camera dies when the engine starts.

Now you stating that camera runs but dies after a while. So I would look for a power relay or circuit breaker that is heating up and stops working after it heats up or loose ground.

You will have to follow the wire or shoot it with a wire tracer.

check the ground first then the breaker or relays.

I assume you are now plugging into a cigarette lighter socket using a different plug and wire and the unit stays on.
