Many, many years ago I learned that if you see a deer standing in the road at night staring at you driving at it/them, turn your head lights off.
Had that happen once, back when the dimmer switch was foot operated. I found the dimmer switch before I found the head light switch. And as soon as I dimmed the head lights the deer moved off the hi-way.
Do not do that here. Especially Kangaroos jump from the side of the road into the windscreen - Dusty_RExplorerMany, many years ago I learned that if you see a deer standing in the road at night staring at you driving at it/them, turn your head lights off.

Animals jump out here, but still bull bars aren't common. If it's a deer, most of the time they bounce off after doing a few grand in damage. occasionally they'll go through the windshield and kick the occupants to death.
In certain areas you can have moose or elk run out, there's no good way to hit either of those beasts, bull bars would not help.
We get kangaroos. Then the Feral introduced dpecies : Buffalo, Camels and roaming cattle maybe wild horses, in some areas - DiskDoctrExplorerVery nice! They did a really good job of integrating the bus and tractor. Any pics of the interior? Looks like an open floor design.

I hope it's 4WD - or at least front wheel 2WD - with all that weight in the front!
I wonder if the owner is planning on pushing over cows, moose, or trees? ;)
No different from any other truck.
For some people who fo not have a clue in the US. Animals can jump out in front of you driving in the Australian Outback pnichols wrote:

Just like buses, fire engines and other large cabover vehicles, the long rear overhang ensures good front/rear weight distribution. Same reason that front engine motorhomes have long rear overhangs. I've seen those front bars on most rigs in Australia, lots of big critters on the roads. With all the deer we have in the West, I'm surprised that these aren't standard on trucks here.- azrvingExplorer
