What Alison tranny do I have??

Can anyone tell me the best and easiest way to determine what Alison tranny I have?

Freightliner XC chassis with 300 Cummins, 5 speed Alison tranny ( D, N, R, & up/dn arrows) on control panel. 2005. Manual does tell which of the 2000, 2100, or 2500 I have. Any idea where the serial number is? Alison website would then give me details.

Thanks.
  • A brochure for that model says it's a Allison MH-2000 - 5 Speed.

    The brochure is here.

    This may help.
  • Try looking inside the bedroom closet for the several build sheets; especially the one with the large FREIGHTLINER logo on it. It tells which tranny is in the drivetrain.

  • There should be a plate on the trans, side, front right or left. About 2x3" with info
  • With the push-button shifter you have a 3000 series. It is a full fly by wire system.

2000 series have a T bar type shifter with a mechanical pull cable down to a lever on the lower left side of the transmission.

ID plate is on the right side of the transmission.
