What are you paying for oil changes

When I do my changes, I do the Generator and CAT 3176b at the same time....for both: 10 gallons of Oil, 3 oil filters, 3 fuel filters 2 air filters(the big one is not cheap)….the Fumoto valve speeds things up since I drain it into my concrete mixing tub in the street, then pour the used oil back into the new oil containers. (taking the oil in can be a challenge at times to recycle.) I buy my Delo at Costco, buy my filters at FilterBarn and do all the work myself and have done it for 15 years on this motorhome. The estimated cost between oil and filters varies depending on the sale cost 200.-250.00 for parts.


I've rebuilt the air dryer and new spin on cannister 4 times over the years and that generally adds another 60-70.00. So, 300.00 for what your getting doesn't seem all that bad.

PS....look at the OP's tag line, he's got a 600hp Volvo engine, it uses a few more quarts that a typical large gas engine. Hell the air filter is probably a 50-75.00 item even at a discount store.

I just paid C$450 (all in) for 12.5 Liters of MB super low ash oil and a pricey filter, and a few other small things that are required in the 20,000 mile "A Service" on my Navion. Now good for another 20,000 miles.

Haulmark 45D, with a D16 volvo diesel engine.

What Class C are you driving that uses 44 qts of oil?? What am I missing on this post? 6 quarts/filter on mine is $28-$30 to do it myself in the driveway and change mine every 1500-2000 miles which is overkill but what's $30 to keep it running clean.

Been on the road since 10/16 usually use Love's or T/A truck stops, or independent truck shops, just curious what others with large diesel engines were paying.

That seems pretty expensive for what? Fidteem quarts of oil and a 20 dollar filter!

Buying 11 gallon of Rottella T would be about $140. Filters could add up to another $100. Plus labor. Have you checked Speedco.

I pay nothing except the cost of the filters and oil, I do my own on everything I own.

Oil changes are elementary easy. Even a chimpanzee can change oil.
