What CAT engine do I have?

My 2000 Harney Riata has the CAT 3126B, 300 HP.

More things to check anyhow. Thank you guys. I will let you know what I find.

Wow, that's a new one on me. Never heard of cruise being canceled due to "High beams" being on. And, Our exhaust brake switch is ALWAYS ON, and our cruise works just fine. While maybe some chassis manufacturers MAY curtail certain operations of engine/cruise/E-brake/Jake Brake/ etc., not all do.

Don't know about headlights canceling cruise, but on many many coaches, exhaust/engine brake switch on WILL keep cruise from engaging.

Just as will stepping on the brake pedal!

I called CAT and all they have is that it is 275hp 860ft-lbs

HMC Harney to my knowledge is no longer in business. So I don't think I am going to get help there. How should the brake switch be adjusted? I see where it is and can get to it easily.
Are there some basic things I should check/probe?
I see there is a rheostat on the throttle pedal. I look back on the engine and I see no external linkage of any sorts so that I could check throttle position.

You can easily determine what HP your engine has. Just call the Caterpillar RV Hotline with your engine serial number: 877 777-3126.

Your chassis maker should be able to direct you toward how your cruise control is wired. I would suggest starting with verification that the brake switch is properly adjusted and giving the proper cancellation signal.

OK. I am checking out stickers. Small sticker on valve cover tells me 275 max. 3126
But the big sticker says max 330 hp.

I'm trying to figure out what I have so I can start diagnosing an intermitant cruise control. I was going to have a helper open and close the throttle, and the pedal has wires going to it. With the key on and engine off, nothing moves back there when the pedal is pushed. I can't even find where the solinoid is to open the throttle! I see where the air supply goes from the turbo to the intercooler and back to the engine, and that is where it looks like the intake manifold it. With some sensors in it. Well crud I'm lost already! I need more help!

This is what I've always been lead to believe that, the C-7 was "Introduced" in late '03 or, early '04. Our coach, an '04 Itasca Horizon, 36GD does have the C-7 330HP unit and, has ACERT imbedded into the valve cover. And that any CAT motorhome engine prior to the introduction the C-7 in that time frame, was the multi-versions of the 3126. Since I'm not CAT tech or historian, I'm only going by articles I've read etc.
