Ok decided to do a little island hoping. I moved to Mustang Island State Park. How is the weather up north? On the coast today it was 86 with a nice breeze off the Gulf of Mexico. Ok I washed the bugs off the windshield.

Bill - Canadian_RainbiExplorerFinished loading, ready to go in the AM. Mexico Here We Come. (Just a day later than planned--glad the house sitters are flexible!)
- WILDEBILL308Explorer IIWell lets see...what did I do to the coach today???? Well I parked it in a nice campsite at Galveston Island State Park Texas about 50 feet from the Gulf of Mexico. Exercised the air conditioners because it was near 90 and a little humid. Other than that not much.
Bill - Hank_MIExplorerWrestled with removing the metal cage the front TV was mounted in so I can install a flat screen. Most of it is out. Just 2 small pieces to remove today. Not easy to remove, 14 gauge steel welded to a frame member.
- KidooExplorerFinally, I completely rust proofed the entire underside of my MH, it took a good 2 weeks, hell of a job. The MH was rustproof by Monaco but after 12 years, and some driving in snow last year, there was some rust starting to show on the chassis, and I hate rust.
First, I sanded many spots that started to rust, under, in the wheel well, between the wheels, each side of engine, front, back, around doors. Then I treated it with some rust remover to go in depth. I painted it with rust proof red oxide primer and then rust proof black paint.
Let it dried then I sprayed wax type rustproofing on the accessible area and oil type rustproofing in tight hard to reach area.
I also removed all the seals from the cargo doors, sanded the frame, painted it and reinstalled, now all I have to do will be some yearly maintenance.
The job looks preety good, now I can hit the road and not worry as much when I see snow and salt on the road. I will do the oil rust proofing every year.
The only thing I have left is the engine, clean and paint it.
To prevent dirt to get all over, I installed very wide and low mud flap at front and rear wheel. I also installed an extra mud flap to cover about 2/3 of the underside. - turbojimmyExplorerInstalled my new radiator. It had to be cu$tom built by a local shop, but it came out great. The thing hasn't run in months - it was sweet to hear that 454 rumble to life again. Now to figure out how to mount the trans cooler.....
