Retrieved our RT from our favourite local mechanic (CAA Certified) after having had its thorough annual check, lubed, fluids changed, wheels rotated, lights aligned, wipers replaced etc. Only the bottom line on the invoice was scary! On the boss guru's advice I then visited the selling dealer and handed over the front-most of the two coach batteries for a 48 hour test. Our mechanic measured less than 1200 S.G. after full charge on 5 of the 6 cells. Both coach batteries were installed as new when we purchased the RT one year ago. I would like to replace the 2 type 27 12 volt Interstate with 2 x 6 Volt, but the openings are not high enough to accommodate 6 volt batteries.
