Yeah, go with that, you aren't subject to any width restrictions. :R
You are still subject to width regulations. I was attempting to link to national information, rather than get state-specific.
Obtrusive 'extension' (not extrusion), or not, anything beyond 102", that is not actually part of the mirror, is not legal.
My class C is 102" wall-to-wall, with the mirrors extending beyond that.
Those plugs will look real nice... :h
