Got back in town from my Doghouse Saturday. Had the Bilsteins waiting in the garage for installation. So while it was cool this morning i screwed up the courage to crawl under it and do the Rear shocks.
Geeeez, Ford had a better idea, wish they'd paid a bit more attention as to what was involved. Had a lovely time getting the curbside one replaced. Could they have hung the muffler any closer? The lower Bolt and nut was a head scratcher. Shocks on it were original @ 23K miles, but I couldn't quite determine if they were metric or SAE. Finally used a Cresent wrench! Hope the fronts go better, but I've heard differently.
Drove it around the 'horn' and just doing the rears was a noticeable improvement in smoothness and house 'noise'.
Since we're leaving town for a short trip, I think the front shocks will have to wait for me to recover. LOL PITA for what should have been a piece of cake.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend.
