Aurabit79er, we are a lot a like, I tend to think that I can salvage anything. I guess being a carpenter and cabinetmaker for more than 40 years probably has something to do with it. No hill for a climber. Right. Today I went out to look at the rooftop antenna. The previous owner wiped it off the roof and who ever repaired it use parts from two mfg's and that does not work. Well got the thing rebuilt and while at it, I upgraded it to a hd antenna. My son in law helped me do the work. I have a serious vision problem. Well the last time out for a day tripe a couple weeks ago. Saw that the roof was leaking around the antenna again. Darn. order some Eternabond tape. A couple of days agoi I got out the ladder to look at the roof had the son in law there also. The plywood first ply had separated,DARN. So today, I bit the bullet and cut a foot long slice in the robber roof and spread it apart to get some air in there. Late tomorrow I will reglue the ply with contact cement and close up the roof and put the Eternabond tape over the slice and all around the base plate or the antenna. I also found on the base plate where coax goes through that the rubber boot had come up off the nipple that sticks up from the base plate, put that back on and put a hose clamp on it. I think that this time the water was coming down that nipple, probably when the snow was up against it. We shall see if that was the spot. I suppose to rain Sat.night and most of the day Sunday.
