The black tank vent cover seems to be working well. It's funny, though...if you're outside the RV and the wind is blowing when someone flushes, sometimes you get a pretty raunchy smell outside. But it dissipates quickly b/c it's outside...it would take a while to dissipate from inside the RV.
Here's the one I installed: Camco RV Cyclone Sewer Plumbing Vent
Also got the small inverter installed. It's a 400W PSW next to the batteries. I got an outdoor 15A extension cord and ran it under the RV and through the floor, coming out under the dinette. I cut off the female end and wired it into a residential outlet box. We just run an extension cord from the TV to that outlet while we're driving, and plug the same extension cord into the normal outlet when we're on shore power.
I put that one in b/c the inverter that came with the RV is MSW, and it's wired to only one outlet...the one that is disabled when the engine is cranked. Now the boys can play PlayStation and charge their computers while we're driving, without running the 2000W whole-house Magnum inverter.
And this little one isn't really permanently installed - just unplug the extension cord and disconnect the battery cables and I can use it anywhere I want power.
