Today I took my 23' Shasta out for my first ever trip! It's a 2001 with 24,000 miles on it. Generator has 20 hours on it. Looks brand new inside. I bought it a few weeks ago and took it to my local RV repair place to make sure everything in the cabin was working and repair the odds and ends that needed fixing. Then I dropped it off at my local shop to replace some of the hoses and take care of some under-the-hood business. (Everything was working but I like to make sure everything is up-to-date.) Yesterday, I went shopping for new towels, kitchen supplies, storage containers and all the various odds and ends necessary to make it my home on the road.
This morning, I washed the dust off the cab then we piled in and headed off to the San Diego Bay to relax and drink a few beers. There's always a bunch of RV's parked near the bay so right away, there was a crew to welcome me to the fold.
Tuesday, I go shopping and then it's three weeks on the road (starting with a visit to Sturgis).
