Picked up the rig from storage this morning in anticipation of an early departure tomorrow morning. A long weekend at Roosevelt Lake with our Class C camping friends sounds like too much fun.
I finally installed a new 12V cigarette lighter outlet on the back side of the dinette. I pulled power directly off the battery bank bellow the dinette. The run from the outlet is 5' (each way), so I used 14/2 marine grade multi strand wire which will keep the voltage loss at < 3%. Placed an inline 10 amp fuse between the batteries and the outlet, heat shrink on all of the connections and secured the entire wire run.
I recently got a C Pap machine from the VA and needed an outlet close enough to the rear queen for the the DC cable as we frequently do not have hook ups. The cable has an internal fuse as well and the C Pap reportedly draws a max of 6.67 amps including the draw from the built in humidifier.
This outlet will probably see service for our Wally World oscillating ($12), fan as well as battery charging for all of our electronic toys. We have just been using the outlets on the dash for the last year without any issues but it will be nice to be able to utilize the house bank as well.
