btw, this shot does not show the end caps, or the fact that i cut off the exposed support brackets and applied non-skid to the step under the ladder.
The bumper is a 5"x5"x8' fence post purchased at Home Depot. The caps are less than $3. The tray is a 4.5"x10' gutter that I got at Lowe's. I cut the post down to 7'5" and the tray down to 7'4". When you need the hose just slide the tray out to remove the hose. No friction to wear it out like a rusty bumper will. When I cut the steel bumper off I left 7" at each point where it was welded to the frame. The plan was to cut the tops off and facing side to form an "L". However the bottom was so rusted it just fell off and all I had left was a 4x7 faceplate. The 5"x5"x7" piece that was cut off the 8' post I cut in half diagonally to form two 7" L brackets. Briefly, I bolted them to the steel, applied PVC cement to the post and brackets and clamped them together until the glue dried but the installation is more involved. I can go into detail if anyone is interested. I should have taken pictures of each step.
At each end of the tray I inserted a short length of 1/2 inch PVC pipe pushed on end caps (no cement) and installed it with aluminum rivets. I was going to use wood dowels but they could hold dirty water. :E Anyway, PVC is easier to work with and lighter. - EMD360ExplorerIs that a piece of gutter? I really like that slide out tray!

- ReplantExplorerInstalled a 5"x5" bumper with a slide-out tray to hold the complete Rhino hose system. Went from this

to this
Rhino stowed

It cost less than a new steel "bumper" and will never rust. - the_armadilloExplorer

Well our door was becoming difficult to open and close after 33 years of bouncing along the road, so we took the door apart. and found all we had was a pile of wet sawdust and cardboard sandwiched between to door skins.

Seeing the last pic reminds me of my '78 Midas 5th wheel'. Drug that trailer all over the lower 48 when working in the oil patch. Good to see some Midas products still around. - rehoppeExplorerInstalled the new Power Max 60 amp Power Supply. Batteries still good. Oh yeah, fall trips in the air.

- snowdanceExplorerTook the grill off the heater intake. Made some metal tabs and cut a filter to fit. cleaned lots of stuff out of the area and installed the filter and grill.
Then found some of the water pipes that were making noise when the pump was running and wrapped them in foam. Did quite it down a good bit. Got to hot in the motorhome so quit for the day. - Mike_and_Kathy_ExplorerAfter hurricane irene passed, we unloaded refidgerator in RV -- it was prepared in case we lost power in house.
