- rgrcpaExplorerRecuperating from a bad trip. Lost my converter when we arrived at CG. Because it was a holiday weekend, forget about getting any help. So, stayed only three days without a refer. My portable battery charger kept the house battery alive to give us some heat before bed and when getting up. Thank God the temp never went below 48 degrees at night. Anyway, got it home and unpacked. It is now siting on the trickle charge until we can get it to the sho next week. Major bummer.
- mudhoundExplorerdid a mouse check and ran the motor for 15 min
- ReplantExplorerBuilt a scaffold to rip apart the cab-over which is rotted out. Someday I'll get this thing on the road but without the front window.
- TyroneandGladysExplorerOne Old Fashioned tuneup, plugs points and rotor. Distributor cap, spark plug wires, gasket and o ring on oil filter adapter, rebuild carburetor, one transmission mount and last but not least a rear main seal.
- W4MBGExplorerstarted making two new cutting board/sink covers. 1-3/4" thick laminated maple from an old bench top. WAY too thick, but its what i have available. if the DW thinks they are too heavy i can thin them down. still need to smooth the edges so a roundover bit will make a smooth cut on the edges, and then belt sand the faces to remove the old finish and any imperfections. i plan to have one face as the cutting surface and the other for "show".
- grandpa123ExplorerFired up the Genny today and ran it for 45 minutes, plugged in a 1000 watt ceramic heater and charged up the Gen battery and truck battery at the same time. Then ran a extension cord from the house to plug into the coach to charge the coach battery, Last time I ran it was in November as it was too cool in Dec. Checked all the batteries with my meter two were at 11.75 volts they are in a series. and house battery was 12.25. After charging the two were up to 12.78 and the house battery is on a tricle charge for the next 24 hours. Should be good for another month.
Gets a little cool here in Alberta in the winter. Should have gone south but it looks cool there as well. - Poodle_PowerExplorerChecked it out to make sure it hadn't leaked anywhere. It is 2011 Winnebago View and we have only had it a month and it has had it's test by water. So far it has passed.
- W4MBGExplorerbought her a new stereo, to be installed in the spring. cd/mp3/wma/usb/aux/am/fm/all sorts of other letters. last year's model, 35 bux. when the guy told me the price i went right to the checkout, bought it, and got it out of the store in case they changed their minds. :)
- snowdanceExplorerI have been less than happy with the couch in our 2000 Jamboree 23B. When you set down you just went to the bottom. So pulled it out and removed the bottom springs (cross springs). There were 9 of them.. It now has 18 heavier springs.. Is much firmer and nicer for setting and sleeping..
However a project I did a short while ago was to pull the front wheels and clean and grease the front brake steel parts.. They were dragging a bit so it was time.. We had a rattle in the right front (passenger side). There was no question it was in the wheel area. But several trips under it and trying every thing I could think of did not locate it.. When I pulled the brakes apart and took the pads out inside the wheel cyl. cup was the end of a C-clamp.. The one the ball fits in so you can turn it.. Removed it and rattle gone.. If I had not pulled the brake pads to clean and grease the steel parts I would have not found it until I replaced the pads.. They were near new. Who would have ever been looking for that.. - BordercollieExplorerWe haven't had our mostly unused but sun-weathered '04 Tioga on the road in a couple of months. It has under 8000 miles on it and has the original two T-105 house battereis and chassis battery. I used the emergency start to start the engine, let it run for an hour, started the generator and let it run for 1/2 hour and then turned on the roof AC for a half hour, then heated some water in the microwave. Surprised everything started and worked. Gonna hook up the Battery Minder to charge the chassis battery fully, change the oil and filter and check generator oil. I plan to have the brake fluid changed and all belts and hoses checked before resuming camping and touring this coming spring and early summer. We just got too busy with home renovation/remodel and wife's breast cancer treatments after our major cross-country tour in 2005, hope to get back in the RV groove rather than just reading about it on this forum.
