Before last weekends trip I topped up the house batteries, was a little embarrassed at how long I had put that little chore off. They took a good long drink and the hydrometer shows all of the cells in the green with equal readings. I like to run the genny for 45 minutes to an hour before leaving with the frig/freezer, converter and water heater putting out a nice heavy load.
I only had to add 25 gallons to top up the fuel tank as the last trip was just 240 miles. Regular was $3.17 but we get 5% back on gas purchase with our Visa so ended up paying about $3 a gallon. The propane tank took about 8 gallons to top up, the 35K BTU furnace keeps us toasty but can really suck down the LP. The coach is loaded with food, fuel and firewood and all I left to do is pack my bag before the football starts. We will be headed to Quartzite (250 miles), first thing in the morning. After Q we'll probably head up to Parker for a couple of days on the river and then back through Apache junction and home. Temps are suppose to be in the mid to upper 70's, we sure love Arizona winters. :B
Hi! I am actually headed to Tucson this Tuesday for a week. Staying at Lazydays on Irvington...bought my Born Free there and they are having a rally. Disappointed to hear that KOA took over the campground...gone is security, etc. Will be anxious to see the differences...looking for good. Hoping for warm weather! - pianotunaNomad IIIHigh winds are causing an annoying whistle. It is warm in the rv--but the wind gives me the shivers. My car is snowed in, so I won't be going anywhere today.
I'm maintaining 20 c (68 f) inside and using about 4000 watts of electric heat to do so. It is currently -11 c (12 f) (Forecast was for +2 (35f) but some how I don't think that is going to happen. (2004 02 16) - pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
Replaced the 60 watt fridge freeze protection bulb--the last one burned out in under 24 hours. - Desert_CaptainExplorer IIIDecided to upgrade our surge protector from the 30 amp portable (Progressive Industries), to their 30 amp PT30C EMS. The old SG saved us from bad pedestals three times but can't protect from a drop in voltage like an EMS can. With tax and no freight it was $270 from Amazon. I also have an analog voltage meter that plugs into any available outlet for real time reading of what we are getting be it from the pedestal or the generator. :C

Bill - ericsmith32ExplorerTook the tire covers off and checked the tires. First thing my oldest DS (5 years old) said when he got home was where are the covers? Told him I took them off.. Where are we going daddy? .. That's my boy!
- OldRadiosExplorerLooked out the window and saw there is now 2 feet of snow on it. I may use the snow rake and take a little off later today. Waiting for Spring.

Had a friend drop in for a pancake lunch. This is the first time I've every entertained. He was mighty hungry--five pancakes, two sausage patties, two eggs and three cups of coffee. It made me feel the RV is my home.
How fun :)
Dh installed the cover on the vent and replaced an outlet.
We are getting ready for our first weekend trip of the year - wooohooo! Heading out next week for a few days!
~ Dori ~ - pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
Parked the car at the campground office. Waded through a snow drift deeper than my knee to get into my home.
