- ericsmith32ExplorerOurs has no switches for the lights. With kids or short people makes turning on the lights difficult. Wish I could of concealed some of it but it seems everything is full of styrofoam.
2 switches in the bathroom.. one for the light another for the fan. DS #1 really needs to be able to turn it on!
One for the light soon as you get in. Yeah the surface mount isn't particularly pretty, safer with the frig behind though. Was going to do a couple others similar but DW vetoed that idea! Also moved the fire extinguisher and going to but a plug down there once I get the box.
Think I found a acceptable solution to the head knocking speakers.. The only thing I can find at the hardware store and the DW approves.
- bukhrnNomadTook it to the ford truck dealer & had an alignment done, glad I did, it was way off.
- pianotunaNomad IIILeft the campground and am back to urban docking.
- rbuttonExplorerFinally said it's time to fix the speed-O on our 2004 Jayco! So off came the dash. The chassis is an E450 so it took a bit to figure out how to remove the trim panel. Two screws in the top of the dash, then carefully pulling the dash trim off. Move steering wheel to lowest position, and shift lever to the lowest shift point. Four more screws to remove the instrument cluster... then remove the shift indicator first followed by reaching behind cluster and unplug the three wiring plugs. Out comes the instrument cluster. Summit now supplies rebuilt instrument clusters. They are actually shipped from Dorman.
As long as the dash was out and I wait for the replacement instrument cluster I now have installed a new flat screen radio with GPS, XM radio feed, and rear camera. A little trim in the dash framing and it slipped right in.

And even pull out the old tube TV and replaced it with a Flat Screen ... and JUST as I finished the TV, UPS dropped off the new instrument cluster to it's all back together now. All ready for a road test tomorrow!
- ericsmith32ExplorerAdded a outlet and couple meters. Go figure the plate for the DC broke while tightening down the screw.. figured it would snap while trying to cut it. Oh well find something else someday.

- EMD360ExplorerWent to the car wash today and stopped to fill up the gas tank. There is a great car wash here that has a 6 foot high platform on each side with steps both front and back, and a mat hanger--love that place! Takes a credit card and I spent about $16.75 taking my time pretreating the dirt, scrubbing it top to bottom, soaping it up, and rinsing. I really should take off the old Red Max Pro and retreat it with the new Zep that I bought last fall. So nice to have great weather again.
- kgragertExplorerThanks Eric. I'm going to have to do that. I also have that type of chain in my garage.
Thanks for the tip - ericsmith32ExplorerGot round 1 of parts for the RV I ordered after the trip. Alot of little annoyances want to take care of. The 2 holding cup holders for the sofa area and the digital DC meter showed up today. Was thinking about just soldering it to the prongs on the little information center that came with the RV. BUT when I just touch it it came up with 12.3.. connected to the source shows 13.6 which is the verified correct number. It did seem to drop fast, for reference have a group 29 battery.
Still coming is a AC voltage meter, cup holders for the table and a end for the 30 amp extension cable. Going to order and install more outlets both AC/DC and USB and since most pedestals have 15 amp as well as 30 going to run some 12 gauge wire to 2 outlets one in the kitchen one for a radiator heater.. Like I said getting rid some of the annoyances. Well at least some can't get rid of the DS's for a few more years! - ericsmith32Explorer

"After 2 years of knowing I might loose the gas cap it happened on the last trip"
Your post made me drive over to where my RV is stored to check if I replaced the gas cap when I filled up this morning.
That's what I did today. :)
My only vehicle without a gas cap tether.:(
Fairly easy to do.. should of did it a long time ago. Not sure where you can get this particular style of chain though. My dad got in a bunch of auction junk.
- EMD360ExplorerGetting ready for an end of week spring break trip with the grandkids. Last time out the door to the bathroom was bent inward from a fall--getting clumsy in our old age. We were stopped too! The trim popped off inside and the hinges bent. So I tacked the trim back on and took the hinges off and straightened and rearranged them. Door seems like it is back to normal.
