- loggenrockExplorerWe have a Coachmen Prism, 24J, with the corner bed. Bit of a trade-off, but all the other pluses in the rig make up for it! I am able to exit the foot end of the bed since only 1/3rd to 1/2 of the end of the bed is obstructed by a wall, done without even waking DW. It's large enough for the 2 of us plus one 35 pound pup who is definitely a bed hog! 8^) ST
- ron_dittmerExplorer IIIOur 2007 Phoenix Cruiser HERE has a tight rear corner bed. It is surely not ideal but has been working for us. My wife sleeps against the outside wall, me on the inside. When she has to get up, I get up first. I love to hang a foot over the edge of the bed so that cut corner you see there works to my favor. The bed is on the smaller side which is confining, but since we cuddle a lot, it is tolerable. We're not big people either.
One thing we learned about our rear corner bed is not to have a fluffy comforter. The down-filled fluffy comforter in the pictures is gone. The less fluffy, the easier it is to crawl around on the bed to get under the sheets. We do like flannel sheets and don't give up that slight fluff.
One day I will replace the foam mattress with a more firm one (maybe memory foam) to further ease getting in and out from the bed.
The reduced size rear corner double bed works, it's not great, it just works. It is the one area we had to compromise some to get an otherwise fully practical motor home that fits inside our limited size garage. Our rig measures 23'-8" end-to-end.
I suppose a lot of how you look at it depends on where you are coming from. We went from a tent to THIS which we owned for 24 years. We always slept on the dinette converted into a bed which was smaller than today and just as confining. We kept the dinette as a bed all the time so we never had a place to eat at. We crawled over it to get up front. The upper bunk was so much tighter, ridiculous for 2 adults, fine for the kids. At age 25 it was great. At age 49 it was torture. - Bea_PAExplorerWe downsized to a 24' with a corner bed. I just crawl over DH when I get up. We started with a tent then popup, 3 trailers , one with a corner bed, 3 MH's each bigger, went from diesel with everything to this little one, I am 78 and no problem but do use a Travelsack.
- goreds2ExplorerIf my girlfriend has some beers that night, she sleeps on the outside of the corner bed for quick access to the bathroom.
(We are both 53 years young) - ol__yellerExplorer IIAfter 42 years of marriage, I enjoy it when my wife wakes me up during the night. It's not like I have to be up and at work in the morning...Sometimes you have to sacrifice somethings to get other things like a smaller RV with a lot packed into a small space.
- BordercollieExplorerWe have a 27foooter with left side against back wall of bedroom, Same problem but we use two sleeping bags zipped together, don't bother with making bed. 27 footers with a small slide have bed mounted fore and aft abd access on both sides and at foot.

Our first RV was as you describe. And depends on what season of year who gets crawled over. Winter time wife wanted closer to heater vent and she got crawled over. Summer time she wanted closer to the cheaply insulated wall and I got crawled over. Its all good though in middle of the night crawling over each other. - PopsExplorerBuy a "travelsack bed cover", camping world has them. No more trouble making bed. Also I got a small DW, I pull my legs up, she has no problem getting in or out.
- JbrowlandExplorerMaking the corner bed is a major pain.
My DW and I have a nice, big bed at home and enjoy our sleeping space. When we are RVing, we prefer to sleep apart so we have more space. We just can't get used to being smashed together in a corner bed so she takes the queen cab over and I take the full corner bed.
Our situation may be atypical though as we not only have a corner bed but there is maybe two feet of space to crawl into the corner bed that is walled in on all sides but for the little corner entrance. - dewey02Explorer II

I traded my TT with a rear corner bed for a MH with a walk-around queen bed. Much better sleeping.
x2. We used ours for two years and traded it in for a model with a walk around bed.
As we've aged, our bladders have shrunk and our ability to go back to sleep after waking has lessened.
Crawling over your spouse at 3 AM to go to the bathroom will gain you no favors. Also, as others have said, making the bed is very difficult. The walk around is SO much nicer.
