You might want to call your agent. Some insurance companies don't make it known that this is a benefit. Many insurance policies pay to have chips and small cracks repaired because they rather not pay for a new wind shield.

They come right out on site and repair it. AND your insurance company accepts this type of repair. They have the power tool right on board that is used to fix it correctly.

I have them out 4 times for my toad, my SUV and MH. When they are done you can't even see it. My insurance company actually referred them to me and I got a discount from safelite.
It only costs around $60 bucks.

Just a note. The first chip I didn't fix and it started to spider?
When I got into an accident the whole windshield failed because of it. I sustained more injuries than I should have. That's why the cops give tickets for cracked windshields.

Can't say enough about this company. IMHO the only way to go to fix windshield chips.

Chip repair kits from the auto parts store are pretty simple to use. The key is prep. And follow the instructions exactly costyou about 7 dollars last one i bought.

There are DIY windshield repair kits available. I've never used one so, I can't comment on how well they work.
Probably Autozone and similar stores will have the kits.

I don't recall seeing anything that was DIY.

I have had a glass repair place fill in a chip way back as I didn't have insurance.
Now my insurance has glass replacement at no cost.
