- ferndaleflyerExplorer IIII park mine at home and rent my extra space to others which covered my payment until it was paid for now it buys me some diesel fuel---but not much.
- 2bzy2cExplorer IIHere is my take on the storage issue.
1. You have already invested in a rapidly depreciating asset, your RV. Yes, I know, it is the cost of the lifestyle but still, purely from an investment standpoint, RV's are not a good investment.
2. Every post I have seen so far in this thread are all from people who are renting their RV storage. Really? So, in five years you will lose at least 50% of your RV's value, and 100% of the money you spent on storage.
Granted, I should disclose that I built RV Storage condos, so my opinion is just a bit bias. However, the simple fact is buying your storage in most all cases is better than renting. Granted, you have to make a substantial investment up front, that I understand. But your monthly costs are much lower than anything I have seen in this thread. At my project, it is $35 per month association dues, about $800 per year in property taxes, and $6 per month for electricity +-.
Before you jump all over me, this is for enclosed storage, alarmed, secure, automatic doors, 50' deep with 14' tall doorways, Showers, dumps, wash area, laundry, WIFI etc.
I don't mean to make this into a commercial, I simply wanted to point out there are better alternatives than renting. - ken07734ExplorerDamn!, I knew I wrote this before....Sorry people.
- ken07734ExplorerI pay 110.00 a month for a 10 by 30 space next o a fire hydrant....
- twainharteartisExplorerThanks everyone this is great info so I have an Idea what I can expect to pay. I live up in the mountains and it snows here and I have a step driveway that my 27FT just makes the transition to flat. The bigger rig may not be able to with out having rear bumper lifting the drive wheels off the pavement. I haven't tried yet but it doesn't look good other wise I would park it up here and build a cover for it. Thanks again for all your input.

- gone2dadesertExplorerThe best RV storage deal in my area (North San Diego) is about $5 a foot (monthly) for an uncovered space, it has 24hr access, water, RVdump, and valet parking.
