If you have a satellite dish, it is most likely cabled to a cabinet somewhere with power for a receiver and coax connectors for dish to receiver, receiver to antenna input to TV.
Dish for a 2002 would most likely be single LNB which would be used with DirecTV for standard definition at the time, or Dish TV one satellite at a time. The technology and assignment of services to satellites has changed, but chances are pretty good that with the right receiver you can get most of the DirecTV programming you would have gotten in 2002, but not everything offered today by use of multiple satellites.
An elevation guage for my dish (2004) is located where I crank it up. Cabinet for the receiver is located next to the TV.
