- TomB_ExplorerThanks for the info. I think I'll stick with my 99 Adventurer for now.
Although the 2015 Adventurer with 2 bathrooms was quite a tease... :B - tropical36Explorer

I was looking for a 2015 class A gasser & after checking several brands it seems that they only come with the Ford chassis... What gives?
You've heard the rest. Now find yourself a good used WH W24 chassis and not only save a bundle of money, but you'll have the 8.1 Chevy and the Allison Transmission without auto park, as well. My choice would be a National brand and a favorite in the used market. Forget the orphan BS, if that might be a concern to you, with the basement doors being the only exclusive part and anything can be repaired or made over.
WH did produce some coaches for a couple of years after their take over, but used one of their own engines and a poor excuse of a tiny Navistar diesel, so don't be making that mistake, if you decide to go looking.
Seems that this would have been the trend, with or without the demise of the Chevy, as most companies will always use one of their own engines.
With Ford, the little V10 turned out to be a welcome surprise with it's power and durability (the newer versions, anyway) and at least, both the engine and the chassis is all Ford with service centers from coast to coast. - C-Leigh_RacingExplorer

Are there still any W18 or W22 Workhorse chassis out there having brake caliper problems, or Bosch finely got them all changed over.

Since the WH recall was years ago I would assume that there are as many Workhorse chassis out there with the old brakes as there are Ford F53 chassis out there that could burst in to flames if the Ford recall was not taken care of.
LOL, yeah, I spect your right.
I dont think it would really be the Ford recall though, probably more than likely that Norcold fridge.

Neil - Chevy dropped the P line in 1998 and sold certain parts to new start up Workhorse. Workhorse was purchased by Navistar in 2005 and the great recession combined with chassis recall problems pushed Workhorse under and Navistar shut them down in 2012/13. Doug
- MrWizardModeratorgm SOLD THE p30 CHASSIS line and it became workHorse
workhorse is now out of business - Dale_TravelingExplorer IIEPA, fleet CAFE fuel standards, the GM bankruptcy and other factors ended the production of the engine which rippled down to Workhorse and resulted in the ending the chassis production. Ford is your only choice for a new rig.
- rgatijnet1Explorer IIIUnfortunately you do not have a choice any longer on a new RV.
There are plenty of used models out there with the GM 8.1L engine AND Allison transmission. I saw a 2012 Monaco Monarch coach that had the GM engine and I am sure that there are other brands that are available on the used market. - sch911ExplorerPushed the wrong button...:o
