- RoyBExplorer IIIAlot of motorhomes don't have much extra space for additional batteries and this makes folks look at the sealed batteries so they can installed in alternate places with having to worry about major venting mods to the compartments.
Sometimes the height of the batteries like the T105s and GC2 6V deep cycle batteries are just a half inch too tall for the motorhome battery compartment...
Need to investigate all of this before buying new batteries.
Getting at least sometime in the 220Ah capacity is great for the weekend trip off the power grid. Going up to 450AHs Battery capacity is almost a must have for longer times back off the roads...
You see some of the full time guys that live in their motorhomes full time having as much as 800AHs or more of battery capacity along with solar panels etc...
Check out Mena's and Pianotuna's battery bank setups...
Roy Ken - JaBobExplorerI vote for Trojan 105.
Bob - AJRExplorerAssuming the batteries are old and have proper fluid levels in them. I can tell you my 2002 Damon came with two 6V golf cart batteries wired in series from the factory. If 6V batteries can fit into your rig it would be worth doing I think.
- Dale_TravelingExplorer III replaced the single deep cycle 12 volt battery with two 6 volt golf cart batteries. Got them at Sam's Club for $65. $80 list with a $15 core turn in discount.
- pianotunaNomad IIIIs the existing battery no longer holding a charge?
- ArchHoaglandExplorerReplacing the batteries won't necessarily cure your problem.
How long had you been running on batteries and what else was drawing power? - twainharteartisExplorerIt has to 12 volt house battery's I was camping last month and the refrigerator had an alarm going off with a code A7 I looked it up and it said that was for low voltage. The alarm stopped when I started the generator. So it seems it's ok to go to an auto store and buy a deep cell battery?
- ArchHoaglandExplorerWhat batteries are in there now? 12 volt or 6 volt.
- pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
Do you boondock much? - Gale_HawkinsExplorerOEM builders typically use batteries referred to as deep cycle batteries instead of starting batteries like found in cars and trucks.
