What is this? Attached to T. V.

2007 journey t.v. Replacement.
Had to replace the old tube style tv with a new flat screen. The old tv had this, see
picture attached to the back. Can anyone tell me what it is and what it does? file:///var/mobile/Library/SMS/Attachments/3c/12/D37F7FDE-8B27-4F9F-A4CE-A9D5E1843DCB/IMG_0599.HEIC
If picture doesn’t come through, or a red and grayish white rca plugs that go into a three inch long tube, about 1” in diameter with to wires exiting tube that go into the tv.
Thanks for any assistance.

Well I was never able to post a picture, but I did find out what it was! Bang around a lot of rv forums.
An hit gold on Winnebago owners forum! It’s called a WART. The gentleman that was replacing his analog tv and described what the WART is for and how to remove and reattach to the newer flat screen tv!
It connect this tv speaker to the rigs surround sound system.
Thanks to all that responded to my help question. Now I got to get back to the install!

.heic images are created by iPhones. Typically only Apple
    hardware/software can read them.

The only PC/Linux software that can deal with them is GIMP. It is free picture editing software, but quite complex.

Easiest thing to do is go to preview on your phone and change it to a jpeg and then post it. Open pic in preview and export it as a jpeg or whatever file type you like to wherever you want.

  • Thank you for your information and response. Trying to figure out how to post the picture!
  • Without the pic, what you describe is a Adapter to run the TV Audio to a Dash Radio or even a Home theatre receiver. They (OEM RV maker) had the TV supplier modify the TV's for AUX Audio output. Without that filter, you would get a HUM when trying to use a Dash Radio or Theatre Receiver. The TV supplier, would remove the back of the TV case and solder in the wires for that filter to the TV internal speakers. Doug

The TV's did not have a Audio output plug or a Headphone plug.
  • Your photo did not show on my screen. However, the item may be a 75 ohm cable to 300 ohm, two wire flat cable, transformer. They were very common in the older TV's. That was used to connect the cable from the RV antenna to the two wire antenna input of the TV.

It could also be a digital to analog converter. Today's TV broadcasts are Digital, and your tube TV would be analog. Again it connected the RV antenna to the TV's audio/video or antenna input of your TV.

Your RV antenna cable should fit straight into you new TV, with out that device.

It could also be a cable that goes to your RV remote speakers. If it is, a converter/adapter may be needed to connect the RV remote speakers to your new TV.
