If you're moseying along at your leisure doing less than 70 you should have your license revoked, your a safety issue, your risking a catastrophe, and its only a matter of time before you kill a family with 14 kids. I sure hope my family and I never get near you on the road.
At least that was the consensus in another thread just yesterday.
I guess you don't have to be very senior to be a senior member. This is not only inaccurate, it is rude and condescending. Speed limits exist for a reason and that limit is the "top" limit, not the required, or even suggested, speed. As questioned above, you suggest you must be driving "at least" 70 when there are many areas where the speed limit is substantially less. You have made a dangerous and inaccurate post and should apologize to everyone here for having done so.
I do drive 70-75 when appropriate but since I am currently in CA I would almost be guaranteed a ticket and roads like the 101 would throw everything in your RV off the shelves at 70+ MPH as you say is required.
Another example of the distinct lack of sense of humor on this board.........ever hear of sarcasm?
I apologize to everyone here for having done so.......lol - Bill_SatelliteExplorer II

If the speed limit for cars is 70 then they are going 75 to 80 mph. Darn that's a big difference and it seems unsafe to me also. I do understand that's how it is where you are.Ralph Cramden wrote:
And what speed do you recommend in California where the speed limit is 70 for cars and 55 for anybody towing anything?

At least that was the consensus in another thread just yesterday. - ncrowleyExplorer III have a diesel and am the same as everyone else. I go around 63 mph on the interstates and average 50 mph on the trip.
- rk911Exploreron the open road in our gasser i generally run the speed limit ir 68-mph, whichever is less; thru cities i tend to stay in the middle lane at the speed limit or with the flow of traffic, whichever is less. with stops this averages to roughly 50+ mph

First buy a Valentine Radar dector. Now you can drive 62 to 64 mph on all interstates without worrying about a CHP using radar on you.
X2. And, pour your beer in a Pepsi can so they can't see what you're drinking. ;)
I like to keep the speed around 62-64 on a gas Southwind. - jplante4Explorer II

Are you talking average as in including stops? We plan for 50 MPH.
To get that, I run 63 MPH on the road when conditions allow.

I don't need to, I'm retired :)
Plus I'm never going to the C in CHP.
