Wow! A couple of days ago I was in my F-250 and was lock-step behind a motor home towing a mini-van on a tow dolly. My cruise was set at 77 MPH! I eventually went around it on a long hill and checked to see that it was a Monaco Windsor DP with single axle in the 35-40' range. I'm definitely no expert, since I don't even own a coach yet, but that seemed a bit much.
Yup. The big coaches with the 450-550 HP engines tend to cruise up there. Holding the DW "recommended" 63 mph, I get blown by frequently by 40+ footers. - GeorgeandTheBeaExplorerWow! - 2edgeswordExplorerGas, 55-60mph.
- JeffeExplorerInterstate speed limit, but seldom higher than 70-72. In Texas a lot of the highways system is 75 and 80.
Diesel - WanderlostNomad IIDP, whatever the road conditions and winds determine is the safest speed, up to the speed limit.
- IvylogExplorer IIIOn good highways 64-67...diesel with a average over 55. On two lanes whatever the traffic is doing and every couple miles I move as far right as possible to let those behind me know I’m not the problem. If I’m the problem I’ll find a sale spot to let those behind (3-4) get around me.

Was just curious, what is the Average Highway,/freeway speed Most of you drive, and if that is from a gas or diesel coach?
57mph and the same with our old gasser. - Labman7ExplorerJust completed a 4,300 mile trip -Illinois -> Iowa -> South Dakota ->North Dakota ->Montana -> North Dakota -Minn -> Wisc -> home to Illinois. Diesel. Averaged 66 for trip. Drove speed limit in all states, 65, 70, and 75. Didn't run into too many running 63, passed very few motorhomes or trailers. Was passed by many. Crossing ND with the 75 limit, I was passed like I was blocking traffic.
- wallynmExplorerJust past the peak torque at 1450 rpm and that is 58 MPH. best economy !!!!
3126 E Cat 330 Hp and 860 ft lbs of torque. - sailor_louExplorerDiesel and I typically travel +/- 5 mph of the speed limit.
