What was the 1st year for slide rooms in Winnebago diesel motorhomes?

What year did slide rooms become available in Winnebago diesel motorhomes? In for sale pics I see a parking brake air valve - do the diesels have air brakes or some form of hybrid system?

Sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone. I did have fun looking up what esoteric meant. ?? I was hoping for some owner input from someone experienced with 90's era motorhomes. I have since found the which models had slides info on Winnebago's excellent website.
