We weren't on the road yet for this one. Camping over Labor Day weekend. Time to go home and we start packing everything up. Last thing to do is push the button to roll in the awning. The motors turning but the awning ain't moving. It seemed to difficult to pull it home with 12 foot of awning hanging out there so I got to work. Seems the flat spot in the roll cap that the flat spot on the motor drive gripped on was no longer flat. It had rounded out. 20 minutes later with the help of a bobby pin and some aluminum foil I had that space tight enough for the motor to wind up the awning. We then added a couple end to end ratchet straps around the trailer for the drive home.
We were on the road for this one. In the wife's Altima going down the interstate when suddenly we hear a terrible noise. I pull over and see a plastic panel hanging under the front of the car. I have no tools or supplies so I tucked it up under as we were almost to our destination. Just as I got back up to speed it was dragging again. Pull over. I get out of the car and start walking around on the grass shoulder. The wife asks what I am doing. Just as I bend down and pick up a length of steel belt out of a truck tire. I crawled under the front of the car and tied the piece up into place with the steel belt. You don't need tools. You just need imagination.
